What I do when lemons arrive is I think about everything beautiful in my life. It's so easy to get swept up in the problems of the city I live in. Instead I look at the beautiful trees, foliage, insects, animals, birds, clouds and the kind people who live here.

It is so easy, you're right. I love your intentionality. It helps remind us that beauty surrounds us. Thanks for the reminder about the clouds!

Your mom had such an ability to see the bright side of life and you do too.

Nice, Laila, and that is such a strength. I think it is best learned early too.

When lemons come, I try to remember that this is temporary, I reflect to see if this is a sign that I am pushing things in the wrong direction, and I try to remember I’m strong and courageous, and blessed to have a lot of support, as I face what’s going on. Sometimes of course there may be moments of desperation. I believe in a spiritual dimension larger than us, and connecting to it, seeking support, or answers, also helps me go through hardship.

When things flow well and the sun seems to be shining everywhere, I try to remember that this too is temporary and that it’s important to savor every bit of it, before the next lemons come :)

Great perspective! Understanding that everything is temporary certainly does allow us to both savor and bear the hardship. I like the variety in the other methods you employ as well.
